The Scriptures Inspired
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12).
The One True God, the Trinity
The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM,” and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isa. 43:10, 11; Matt. 28:19).
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was one hundred percent God and one hundred percent man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He arose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (See John 1:1, 14; 20:28; 1 Tim. 3:16; Isa. 9:6; Phil. 2:5, 6; 1 Tim. 2:5.)
Virgin Birth
Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father, through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the Virgin Mary’s womb; therefore, he is the Son of God. (See Matt. 1:18, 25; Luke 1:35; Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18, 23-25; Luke 1:27-35.)
Man’s Fall and Redemption
Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God (Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Rom. 5:12-21).
Jesus is the Only Way to Heaven
All must be “born again” to enter the kingdom of God, to obtain His blessings and to have peace with God. We must be born again to be caught up with Him when He returns. (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9, John 3:3, John 14:6).
The Salvation of Man
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.
+Conditions of Salvation
The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all men, through the
preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing, regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace, has become heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; Rom. 10:13-15; Luke 24:47).
+ Evidences of Salvation
The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Rom. 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is the confession that Jesus is Lord and a life of holiness (1 Thess. 4:7, 2 Tim.1:9).
Repentance
Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ, which allow us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation. (See Acts 2:21; 3:19; 1 John 1:9.)
Resurrection
Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of the life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation. (See Luke 24:16, 36, 39; John 2:19-21; 20:26-28; 21:4; Acts 24:15; 1 Cor. 15:42, 44; Phil. 1:21-23; 3:21.)
The Promise of the Father / The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
All believers who are born again are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire. With this baptism comes the infilling of power of the Holy Spirit for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the work of the ministry, and the Scriptural evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit enables. (Matthew 3:11; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 2:4; 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 19:6; 1 Cor. 12:1-31). Believers are also to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians: 5:18-19).
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit manifests through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in love and in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters. (See Heb. 2:4; Rom. 1:11; 12:4-8; Eph. 4:16; 2 Tim. 1:5, 16; 4:14; 1 Cor. 12:1-31; 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10.)
Regeneration
All people who turn from their sins and put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ receive a new birth by which their life is regenerated by the power of God’s Holy Spirit (John 3:3-6, Titus 3:5). From that time forth the regenerated person has God’s Holy Spirit dwelling within them enabling them to live a holy life (1 Corinthians 3:16, 2 Peter 1:3-4). Also giving them power to be witnesses for Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8).
Sanctification Process
The scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.
Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ’s character in us. By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word (Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:15, 16; 1 Thess. 5:23, 24; 1 John 2:6).
+Instant or positional sanctification. This is what happens to every person who
puts their trust in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. When we are saved
through faith in Jesus, we are sanctified in the eyes of God through the blood of the cross. As God the Father looks at us, He sees the holiness of Jesus, which is imputed to us, and does not see our sin (Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 14).
+Progressive or practical sanctification. This is the process by which we strive to
live on a day to day basis by considering ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in holy living through the power of God’s divine nature within our lives (Romans 6; Philippians 2:12, Philippians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:3, 2 Peter 1:4).
+ Final sanctification. This is when we are totally set free from the presence of sin
within our life after seeing Jesus our Lord and being made like Him because of
seeing Him as He really is in all His glory (1 John 3:2).
Jesus’ Blood
The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross of Calvary was sinless and is one hundred percent sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for both our sinfulness and our sins, enabling all those who believe to be free from the penalty of sin, which is death. (See 1 John 1:7; Rev. 1:5; 5:9; Col. 1:20; Rom. 3:10-12, 23; 5:9; John 1:29.)
Jesus Christ Indwells All Believers
Christians are people who have sincerely invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them by His Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority of their lives over to Him thus making Jesus the Lord of their life as well as Savior. They put their trust in what Jesus accomplished for them when He died, was buried, and rose again from the dead. (See John 1:12; 14:17, 23; 15:4; Rom. 8:11; Rev. 3:20.)
The Church
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (I Thess. 2:4)
Jesus is the Head of the Church
Jesus is the head of the church and all attention and glory are directed to Him alone. It is Christ whom we preach, praise, worship and serve. (Ephesians 1:22, John 12:32)
Jesus is Coming for His Church
Jesus will come again for His church, an event known as the rapture. The Bible says “But I would not have you be ignorant, bretheren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them that are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV). Some other Scripture references that confirm this event include (Luke 17:34-37; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
Believers Are to Walk by Faith
By the hearing of God’s Word, faith comes to the believer. (2 Corinthians 5:7; Romans 10:17)
Believers Have Dominion Over Sin, Satan and Self through Jesus Christ
Through Jesus Christ and the power of His Name all believers have power over all the power of the enemy and should have a lifestyle that represents the life of Christ. (Luke 10:19; Matthew 10:7-8). Sin has no more dominion over the believers (Romans 6:9; Romans 6:14; Matthew 1:21). Christ is an overcomer, victorious and more than a conqueror; therefore, we too can be victorious (Romans 8:37)
Baptism in Water
The ordinance of immersion baptism by burial with Christ should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that have repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed on Christ as their Savior and Lord. In so doing, they have the body washed in pure water as an outward symbol of cleansing, while their heart has already been sprinkled with the blood of Christ as in inner cleansing. They declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with Him in newness of life (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4).
Infant/Child Dedication
Infants and small children may be dedicated to the Lord in the church upon the request of the parents or guardians (Mark 10:13-16; Luke 18:15, 16).
The Lord’s Supper (Communion)
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and fruit of the vine, representing the body and the blood the Lord Jesus Christ, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a memorial to His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined to all believers “until He comes” (John 6:48,51,53-57; Luke 22:19,20; 2 Pet. 1:4; 1 Cor.11:25).
Ministry
Divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) The edification of the Body of Christ (Mark 16:15, 20; Eph. 4:11-13).
The Fivefold Ministry
Jesus Christ, The Head of the Church has given ministry gifts to the church. The Bible says “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning crafiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:11-16 KJV).
Marriage
The testimony of the God-breathed Holy Scriptures is that the marriage covenant shall be reserved only for one man with one woman. It was our Creator, the Lord God, who decided the man should not be alone, who specifically fashioned the woman as the suitable helper for the man, who literally made the woman from a part of the man and in the woman made
the man complete, who designed sexual union to be with a husband cleaving to his wife as one flesh, who bestowed his divine blessing upon the unity of a man and a woman, who gave the man and the woman the ability to fulfill his charge to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and who ordained the pattern for human existence that a man and a woman would pair up and cleave to each other in one flesh. No other relationship can everbe the holy unity between one man and one woman established by our Creator, which the Apostle Paul frequently compared to the holy unity of Christ and the church, and man has
no authority to alter the divine order of the unity between one man and one woman. (See Gen. 2:18-24; 1:27-28; Matt. 19:4-6; Eph. 5: 23, 25, 31-32.)
Sexuality
Sexuality and the divinely prescribed boundaries for the expression thereof is covered clearly in the Holy Scriptures, which limit sexual expression to the marital relationship of one man with one woman. Homosexual acts, adultery, bestiality, and all forms of fornication are categorically condemned in the Holy Scriptures. (See 1 Cor. 6:18; 1 Thes. 4:3; Rom. 1:26-27; Prov. 5:3-5, 8-13; 7:21-27; Gal. 5:19; Exodus 20:14; Deut. 5:18; Matt. 5:27; 19:18; Luke 18:20; Rom. 13:9; James 2:11; Lev. 20:10-21;1 Cor. 10:8; 6:18; Jude 7.)
Divine Healing
Deliverance from sickness and affliction is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers (Isa. 53:4, 5; Matt. 8:16, 17; Mark 16:18; John 5:14). Healing of the sick is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to follow believers. It is also a part of Jesus’ work on the cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit. (See Ps. 103:2, 3; Isa. 53:5; Matt. 8:16, 17; Mark 16: 17, 18; Acts 8:6, 7; James 5:14-16; 1 Cor. 12:9, 28; Rom. 11:29.)
God’s Will for Provision
It is the Father’s will for believers to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life. But because of the fall of man, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while on the earth. That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others. Benefits are: Spiritual (John 3:3-11; 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Rom. 10:9,10), Mental and Emotional (2 Tim. 1:7; 2:11; Phil. 4:7,8; Rom. 12:2; Isa. 26:3), Physical (Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24), Financial (See Joshua 1:8; Mal. 3:10, 11; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6-10; Deut. 28:1-14; Ps. 34:10; 84:11; Phil. 4:19).
The Beginning of Human Life
Human life begins at conception, and God even knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:13,16).
The Sacred Tithe
Believers should tithe the first tenth of their increase and honor God with their substance (Proverbs 3:9-10). The tithe is the Lord’s (Leviticus 27:30-31). Tithing was initiated before the law, taught as part of the law and after the law (Matthew 23:33; Hebrews 7:2; Hebrews 7:5-9; Genesis 14:18-24; Deuteronomy 26:2; Malachi 3:6-11). The tither has certain rights. (Malachi 3:8-12).
Believers Have the Promise of Prosperity
God wants all believers to be healthy and prosperous, and through His principle of giving and His law of sowing and reaping, we live under a greater economic system with God as our source and supply. (3 John 2; Matthew 6:31-33; 2 Corinthians 8:9; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 35:27; Deuteronomy 28:8; Deuteronomy 8:18; Psalm 1)
The Blessed Hope
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the church (1 Thess. 4:16; Rom. 6:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Cor. 15:51,52).
The Millennial Reign of Jesus
The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of national Israel, and the millennial reign of Christ on the earth are Scriptural promises and our hope (2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:1l-16; Rom. 11:25; Rev. 20:l-7).
The Lake of Fire
The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whoever is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns fire and brimstone, which is the second death (Rev. 19:20; 20:10-15).
The New Heavens and New Earth
We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heaven and a new earth wherein righteousness dwells (2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21: l).
Heaven
Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ. (See Matt. 5:3, 12, 20; 6:20; 19:21; 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Cor. 5:1; Heb. 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4.) 2.22
Hell
After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to hell where they will be eternally tormented with the devil and the fallen angels. (See Matt. 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Heb. 9:27; Rev. 14:9-11; 20:12-15; 21:8.) 2.23
Second Coming of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His kingdom. This is a distinct, separate event from the rapture of the Church; the personal imminent return of Jesus at the end of the seven-year tribulation, when He will personally and visibly return with His saints. (Matthew 24:29-31; Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 1:7; Zechariah 14:1-5).
